Mark McKinnon is the lead media consultant for John McCain and will step down from that role in the coming days. McKinnon made a pledge last year that he would not campaign against Barack Obama should he become the Democratic nominee. In an interview last year McKinnon said, “I just don’t want to work against an Obama candidacy…[electing Obama] would send a great message to the country and the world.”
An honorable man in a sometimes less than honorable business. Hats off to Mark McKinnon.
It thrills me to see genuine integrity in politics.
It’s a tough thing to hold on to - especially in a case like this - and I think it’s so worth honoring when we spot it. Lord knows we spend enough time moaning over the myriad examples of ethical shortcomings…
