been thinking...

rottinghaus:

if you missed it earlier, today MTV premiered the trailer for APART.  Please watch it.  A lot of people worked really hard, gave a lot of notes, and worked really hard again to make it what it is.  It’s a complicated, layered, nuanced, mysterious film that was very, very tough to fit into 2 minutes and 11 seconds without giving up the ghost entirely.  BLT did it though, and they did an artful job of it.

Not sure how long this will be exclusively on the MTV site.  I think it will be in more places at a higher resolution tomorrow.  To be honest, the compression on this isn’t my favorite thing.  But, never fear, I’ll post this again when there is a hi-res version.  I like this trailer a lot.  It gives a way a bit too much for my taste — but frankly, anything more than a black screen and an “APART - MARCH 9 2012” title gives away too much.

So.  Enjoy.  Share.  Discuss.  Let’s start a groundswell here and now.  We only have a month.

(oh, if you are wondering, the songs in the trailer are Magic Man’s “Monster” and photocomfort’s “Holy Ropes.”  Both can be had on bandcamp.  Both of them are rad and are featured heavily in the film.  But more on the soundtrack as the month progresses…)

I am more than a little excited to see Aaron’s movie. You should be too.
